Massage Therapists
Massage comes under many descriptions, remedial, therapeutic, swedish style, etc. and the aforementioned would usually be what most people would think of as a massage and would usually incorporate a degree of deep tissue work. In the UK these would be the most common disciplines that therapists would learn first. Then you have Thai, Hawaaian, etc, which are different again and Hot Stone Massage, again different, etc. Alongside these we have pre and post natal, baby and massage for the elderly, the list goes on. Over a period of time most therapists will study further courses and through practice and experience develop their own unique method often including other skills e.g. incorporating acupupressure.
Your first appointment will include an assessment where you will be asked for some personal details, about your medical history and you will discuss your symptoms. Providing there are no problems resulting from that consultaion you will then move on to your first treatment.
